The Radnor High School Scholarship Fund (RHSSF) was founded in 1966 to provide financial assistance to deserving graduates of Radnor High School for post-high school education.

Applications must be submitted to the Radnor High School Guidance Office by a specified date (usually mid-March). The applications are then reviewed by a financial officer at a local university. The officer classifies the applicants based on financial criteria and prepares a summary report ranking the applicants according to category of need. All financial information received is held in strict confidence.

In May, the finalists are interviewed by a selection committee comprised of both board members and community representatives. This review committee considers community involvement, academic performance and commitment to higher education to arrive at individual awards consistent with a budget established for the class. Each class has a specific budget available; the amount is dependent upon the success of our fund-raising activities.

Commitments of scholarships are made for up to four years of full-time study and continuation of support over these years is contingent upon continuing financial need, satisfactory performance (C average or better) and our ability to fund the program. Recipients have six years over which to claim their four years of awards; this reflects the changing time frames of higher education.

Because of the continual rise in educational costs, RHSSF has gradually increased its average award to provide a meaningful level of support. This puts pressure on our fund-raising activities and demands more volunteers to help support the various activities. To help RHSSF maintain, and even increase, its historic level of support, we are now forced to require that each recipient and their parents/guardians assist our fund-raising efforts in some manner over the four-year duration of the scholarship.
